Snapshot Saturday

"But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed." ~Isaiah 53:5

He Is Risen!
And it is finished...

Happy Easter!

Two Weeks Old!

Her mohawk is hilarious.

Our sweet little Haley is now two weeks old. She is getting way too big! ;(  But seriously, she has already changed and grown.

at one day old...

 ...at thirteen days old.
I love listening to the noises she makes in her sleep.

I am trying to enjoy every minute with Haley while she is still really little, because before I know it, she will be as old as Megan (who is turning five! tomorrow...now how is that possible?!). So, I have been snuggling with Haley, constantly smelling the Baby Magic on her soft skin and just loving all of the joys that come with having a tiny baby in the house.

Megan had just eaten frozen blueberries when this picture was taken, thus the blue lips. :)

Megan is constantly smothering loving on Haley. I am glad that she has adapted easily to being a big sister.

I call this one Sleep of the Newborn.

Haley is a very good baby; she just takes everything in her stride. She receives many kisses and cuddles all day long and is a good sport about being transferred from one person to another (I fear she will become spoiled by all of this constant attention!). :) She doesn't cry much and likes to look around when she is awake and happy.

Just look at that precious little face!!!

The only time she doesn't have the mowhawk is right after a bath. And then once her hair dries a little, it gets all fluffy (before it becomes a mohawk again), which looks so cute! :)

Happy two weeks, Haley! Try not to grow up too fast, okay?

We're friends with a theologian! :)

My family had the opportunity to hear R.C. Sproul Jr. teach last night at the Truth Revealed conference. We were very excited to be able to see and talk to him!

R.C. Sproul Jr. married my parents and baptized me when I was a baby; he is a friend of my family, as well as a theologian. :)

We were also able to have breakfast with him earlier this morning, which was pretty cool!

oh my gosh! We got a picture with the R.C. Sproul Jr.! AHHH! :D

(sorry the picture is not the best quality...it was taken on my mom's phone)

Pictures from TC&TS

So, I have a few pictures in my possession of Greenleaf's The Cross & the Switchblade play that I thought I would post on here.

These pictures were taken by Alex from Hello Mercy Photography

The Chaplain and JC gang. That's right: be afraid.

Aaaand...a slightly less serious one. :D

Me and my reporter buddies in our pose. :)

Liam is quite smitten with his fourth(!) sister. :)

Dresden is a little mommy.

Look at that dark hair!!!

I am so thankful for my newest sister and plan to love on her a whole lot. :)

I love it when she is awake! She has such pretty eyes.

I think (though I may be slightly prejudiced ;)) that she is adorable!

We praise God for precious Haley; she is fearfully and wonderfully made!

Say what?!

The snow is almost...gone?! *does happy dance*

I don't think I have ever been happier to say goodbye to snow.

Goodbye Winter, hello Spring!

Sunrise (a short story)

The sky is the color of a robin's egg, streaked with gold from the rising sun.
The dark mountains are a stark contrast against the sky. The air has a chill to it, and the song of a bird is heard in the distance.

This is her favorite time. When everything is peaceful and still, when the duties of the day have not yet begun. The morning always promises a fresh start; a new outlook on things.

She pulls her robe closer to her and breathes deeply of the morning air. The wind picks up, blowing her cinnamon curls around her face.

The sun is almost fully risen now, and the sky looks like a glorious painting of blues, purples, pinks and golds that could only be painted by the Artist of all things.

She marvels at His creation; how beautiful and perfect it is.

She hears birds and a smile tugs at her lips. The one bird has now been joined by others. They sing to one another, their chirps blending into one, sweet harmony. Their song seems to fit this lovely morning so well.

She lifts her eyes up to the sky once more. She would never want to miss a sunrise. Each one is so different, so unique, but so beautiful.

a short story I wrote. It was sort of a spur-of-the-moment thing; I was just "dabbling" a little. But maybe this will get "the juices" flowing again. :)

A little "Christian humor"...

Crazy, crazy... :)
But it made me chuckle, anyhow.

A Multifarious March Post

...."multifarious". What a fun word! (now how many of you, unless you have a large vocabulary, looked up the meaning of this word? ;))

  • I am currently in the very beginning stages of writing a book.
I had what I thought was a good plot, but then I took a break from thinking about writing and now I'm not so sure of my idea; it doesn't seem...right. I'm sure all of you writers know how frustrating that can be! So I am now back to square one...*sigh*

I'm not going to give up, though. My dream of writing a book will someday come true!

  • I can't believe that March is here already! I am hoping that now all of this snow and cold weather will go away! I am not a big snow person; I can handle snow for awhile, if I can stay inside and just look at it, but I quickly become tired of it. But coffee, hot chocolate, socks, blankets, fires in the fireplace, soup and my iPod have brought me through these very snowy days. :)

  • Today is Dr. Seuss' birthday. I saw a production of Seussical yesterday because a friend of mine was in it, and it was so cute! The costumes, set and props were very colorful (of course!) and the lines (which were mostly from his books) rhymed. It was all very...Dr. Seuss-ish. :)
I love Dr. Seuss. I remember my mom reading his books to me when I was younger; he definitely had a sense of humor and a biiig imagination!

“Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”

“Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

“A person's a person, no matter how small.”

“Oh the thinks you can think up if only you try!”

~Dr. Seuss

  • We opened the first pack of baby diapers last night, and ooohed and ahhhed over how tiny they are. The newborn diapers get me every single time!

And so do the itty bitty clothes...

I actually wore this when I was a baby. It's not in bad shape for being 14 + years old!

girly blankets are so fun!

We are looking forward to meeting Baby Girl sometime in the next two weeks!!! And don't worry, she will get a big debut on my blog for sure. ;)

Happy Saturday!
