Summer Pics (Part 1)

Hey, guys! How has your summer been so far? Ours has been good, but busy!

We have been enjoying the pool, a lighter schoolwork load (we are mostly doing just math and science), being able to wear shorts and t-shirts again and playing outside (even though we can only be out there for about 15-20 minutes before running back into the air conditioned house :) ).

just chillin'....

pretty Dresden :)

I love the little flowers all around, just beginning to bloom.

And this...is the product of a little baking project I conducted for Dresden yesterday afternoon. As you can probably tell, the right half was Liam's area to decorate, and the left, the girls'. The beautiful icing designs were the artwork of Liam and Dresden...okay, I helped a little bit!
I think we should go into the business of making and decorating cakes, don't you? ;)

So that has mostly been our summer so far in pictures; I am so glad to be holding the camera again, capturing the little moments of our everyday life, as I haven't had the time for several weeks to take pictures and have missed it.

I hope you all are having a great summer as well! Stay cool and Happy Saturday! :)

Thor vs. Loki

*WARNING: This post is a typical "teenage girl" blog post. But c'mon: I AM a teenage girl, after all.
If you don't care for these types of posts, just stop reading now. Be sure to check back soon for other posts that might better suit your...taste. Bye! :) *

A friend and I have been debating this question over the past several days:

who is "cuter"? Thor... or Loki?

So readers....who do you think is cuter? ;)

Psalm 1

I have been working on memorizing Psalm 1 recently, and I just wanted to share it on here. I think that it's a good passage to 'hide in your heart.' (My goal also is to memorize several more Psalms, including Psalm 100.)

"Blessed is the man
who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree
planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
for the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish."

~Psalm 1 (ESV)

Dear Dad,

I love you so much and am so thankful for everything that you have done for me over the years.

Thanks for (attempting) to teach me a little piano and being really patient when I didn't understand it. :)

Thanks for all your hugs.

Thanks for calling me "Baby Girl".

Thanks for supporting and encouraging me in my acting.

Thanks for working hard to provide for us.

Thanks for raising us to know and love God and for being such a good example to me, Liam, Dresden, and Megan.

I am blessed to have you as my dad.

Happy Father's Day! I love you, Daddy.

Movie Review: The Avengers

I (finally!) got to see The Avengers yesterday with my parents, and I must say that I loved it. I was very surprised that I liked it so well, since I am not normally "into" superheros and things like that.

But it was a very well done movie and very interesting... I did not regret seeing it at all. Liam and I actually talked about it a lot and it was fun to be able to talk about those things with him! :)

The Avengers:

Iron Man -Tony Stark
Captain America -Steve Rogers
The Hulk -Bruce Banner
Black Widow -Natasha Romanoff
Hawkeye -Clint Barton

And... I just had to post a picture of this guy...
Nick Fury

And then there's...

Have you seen The Avengers yet?
