P.I.

Readers--
I have started a new blog, which will be more of my "random blog", if that makes sense? It will be a space where I will record my random thoughts, pictures, projects, etc. If it becomes too daunting a task to keep up with two blogs, I will drop the new and continue with the old. I have written in From Here to Womanhood for over a year, and I don't intend to stop now! :)

Here is the link to my new blog, P.I.

Thanks!

October Baby (2012)

My mom and I watched this movie a couple of nights ago, and I really liked it!

October Baby is the story of a nineteen-year-old girl named Hannah who discovers she is adopted and the result of a failed abortion. The movie is about Hannah finding herself, and it shows the importance of forgiveness.

I think that "Hannah" is really pretty

I liked this movie because it made the point that every life is beautiful and that an unborn baby, no matter how small, is not just "tissues", but a human being that God created and made in His image.

To quote Horton from Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who
"A person's a person, no matter how small."

Hannah and her friend, Jason were too cute. :)

October Baby is a good, Christian film that talks about how we should be willing to forgive others because Christ has forgiven us.

I recommend this movie, but when you watch it, keep the Kleenex nearby if you're a crier. :)

Have you seen October Baby?

The Cross & The Switchblade

Another story successfully told! The Cross & The Switchblade was a great show and it was such a joy to work with this godly, encouraging cast! I had so much fun, as always when it comes to Greenleaf. :)
I am thankful that I got to be a part of sharing the gospel through this story.

Here are some pictures from one of our rehearsals. (Disclaimer: these pictures are not mine. All credit goes to Greenleaf)

"You kill the preacher! I'll give you anything you want, just kill the preacher."

David and Lil' Bo (this is one of my favorites)

Officers Dumbrowski and Cahill

"Well hallelujah, Preacher! *spits in David's face* You ain't never gonna get Nicky Cruz!"

Tickets available

To those of you who live in the area--
I thought I would mention that due to the response the play has received, Greenleaf will be having another showing of The Cross & The Switchblade on Sunday, the 17th at 3pm. They are selling tickets at the door and the price is $9 if you've already called and reserved a ticket, $12 if you haven't pre-paid.

It's a great show, and definitely worth seeing!

(Wow. I  feel like I have been  a major blogger this week!)

Valentine's Day 2013

Well, it's here again. That super fun day where we celebrate our love for others, and their love for us. Who doesn't love Valentine's Day? (c'mon, even if you're "single", you know you still love it! ;)) I'm not gonna lie, the main reason I get excited about this day so much is because of the chocolate and other sweets. :)

Valentine's Day, while it is a day to love and appreciate one another, is also a day to think about our Heavenly Father's love for us. He died on the cross to pay for the sins of His people; what love
How can I not feel loved knowing that from the beginning of time, God chose me to be one of His people, and He died for me, an undeserving sinner?

Sometimes thinking of my unworthiness is enough to make me want to hang my head in shame. I didn't, don't, never will deserve what He did for me, what He does for me. I don't deserve His grace, His love, anything. But then I remember: He paid the price for my sins. He loves me! I am His child. He has given me grace. I can stand before Him in eternity because He took the punishment. It just floors me sometimes.
"For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast."  ~Ephesians 2:8-9
I am so thankful.
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure."  ~1 John 3:1-3

...and just a little Valentine's Day humor...

 Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Exciting times...!

I realized today that in just about five weeks from now, Lord willing, someone very tiny and very sweet will arrive!
...and our life will never be the same. In a good way, of course!
I'm so excited!!!

Here are a few "baby memes" for you. :)

It's only Monday, and I already wish the weekend was coming soon...

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live

There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt of life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
