But February 14th is a lot more than these things. Oh sure, it's about love for each other, but it is also about God's love for you. God loves you so very much, more than you can ever imagine, and sometimes it just blows me away that He died a horrible death on the cross to save me, when I know that nothing I can or will ever do will deserve that great love and grace.
Recently, I watched "St. John in Exile" with my grandparents while I was over at their house. It's about a two and a half hour play preformed by this talented actor alone. He portrays St. John, a disciple of Jesus during His time on the earth. Dean Jones does a wonderful job and this play is well worth your time. In it, John describes all that he saw when he was with Jesus; the feeding of the five-thousand, the other miracles Jesus preformed, the Lord's supper, and the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus. It is very well done and makes you really think about all that Christ went through when He died on the cross and what a great love God has for us, His children.
Valentine's Day for me, is a great day to really think about how much God loves me.
"See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are." ~1 John 3:1
Happy Valentine's Day!
