*untitled*

I have been able to take more pictures recently because I got a new camera (*happy dance*), so I thought I would post a few blog worthy ones.

a chip clip works as well as any regular hair clip, I suppose...

Haley has been my favorite subject for most of my pictures lately; but with a cute face like her's, I'm sure you can see where I'm coming from.

my new 'toy'. I call her, Pixie. :)

I am playing around with Pixie's different settings and all that good stuff, so now I will have something to do over Christmas break!

Favorite Characters: Legolas

I recently watched The Lord of the Rings movies again with my dad and brother, and I was reminded of something...

Legolas is pretty cool.

I mean, 1) he's an elf, 2) he always stands up for his friends and protects them the best he can, 3) he's loyal to The Fellowship and finally, he's an archer! And a pretty good one too, I might add.

I have always thought that archers are super cool, so Legolas has been one of my favorite characters in LOTR (the others being Gandalf, Sam and Pippin) ever since I first saw the movies for mainly that reason. ;)

Apparently, there are some "Legolas funnies" out there...some people have way too much time on their hands...

The one with Curls and Celebrities

Still here! My life has been crazy, but good.

I don't have much to say, so this post will mostly consist of pictures. :)

My five-year-old cousin giving my eight-year-old sister a piggy back ride. :)

I just love her blue eyes! My other siblings and I don't have blue eyes, but my mom does, so hopefully her eyes will stay blue.

I have always thought that the brother-sister relationship is one of the sweetest things.

I found these awesome ringlets in my ponytail last night!
Once, someone saw a picture of my curls and said, "God is good!" :D

Okay, so I have been told that I look like this woman, Jennifer Garner.

...do I?

Speaking of looking like a celebrity... for fun, I recently got an app on my iPod that supposedly tells you which celebrity you resemble. Apparently I resemble Gwyenth Paltrow and Liam, Matthew Perry and Orlando Bloom. :) Nice! I don't know how accurate those are, but nice!

I have a weird case of "blogger's block", so I don't have anything else to say right now.

I hope your Summer has been great so far!

Yep, it's natural...pretty impressive, right? ;)

The End of the World?

I (jokingly) told my family earlier in the month, "If I wake up on December 21 and the world hasn't ended, I'm going to laugh my butt off." ...so guess what I did this morning when I woke up? ;D

Not that I thought the world was going to end---I'm pretty sure it says in the Bible that no man knows the day or hour that the Lord will return, so why are the Mayans any different?

With that said, here are some End-of-the-World Day funnies. :)

yep...pretty much.

Goodbye, Blog!

In a couple of days, I'll be leaving on a trip with my mimi to help my aunt and her family when my cousin is born, and I'm getting really excited! I think that my suitcase may look like the one in the picture because I'll be gone for a few weeks, and that's a lot of clothes to pack! :) (speaking of packing, I better start doing that soon...)

I don't know how much time I'll have to blog on the trip, so I will most likely be taking a break from blogging this month. I'll miss it, but I'm sure I'll have some things to talk about when I come back. :)

Goodbye, Blog!

9.26.2012

I know it's been awhile...

...but life has been so busy, blogging has gotten pushed further and further down the list of priorities.

I don't have much to say, so, as is often the case, (a few) pictures will have to speak for me. :)

Dresden took my camera from me one day and started snapping photos...this is one of the ones I found on the camera later.  :D
I also found this on the camera. Oh, Dresden! :) (she would kill me if she knew I posted these on here!)

I've been reading this book for school this week, and it's been really interesting! I'd been looking forward to reading a book by Dr. Sproul ever since the start of the school year, and so far I haven't been disappointed! I'm really enjoying it.

I am going hoping to blog more than I have lately, but it looks like life's going to continue to be pretty busy for awhile, so we'll see...it also depends on if I have anything interesting to say or not. :)

Have a great week!

Goodbye, August

-We haven't being doing too much these days, and part of the reason is because most of us have had colds this past week and have felt too bad to go anywhere. Only my dad and I were staying well, but this morning I feel like I'm coming down with a mild cold... :( But the ones who got sick first are recovering, so hopefully by the time I feel normal, everyone will be 100% healthy again! :)
there's been a lot of these around our house lately...
-I've been plugging away at school this week.
My workload has increased a lot this school year, and the work is very challenging (one of the things I had to do this week for school is read the book of Genesis, which has 50 chapters in it, in three school days!). I am having to ask the Lord to help me to persevere and have a good attitude...

But overall, I am liking my curriculum and am already feeling like I've learned a lot!

-I read this devotional last week and thought it was really good! It's not very long, and worth the read!

-It's (almost) September? Really?
I am looking forward to cooler days (hopefully there will be some), looking at the pretty leaves, eating soup.
Fall is probably my favorite season.
I love Fall. It's such a beautiful season!

Goodbye, August, Hello, September!

Busyness.

-Yes, I have been petty busy lately. The main reason is because I have been at several hours of rehearsal for The Kids of Bristol Town this week. It is starting to come together, and I am so excited to perform it in two (!) days. I have made several friends, laughed a lot and acted my heart out. :) The stage crew, director and the cast are just great and I look forward to each rehearsal...I will be kind of sad when this whole experience is over.

It's a very fun show, and I think the audience will enjoy it!

Being in this show, I am more exposed to George Mueller and his life, beliefs and how strong his faith in God was.

Here is a quote by George Mueller:

"If the Lord fails me at this time, it will be the first time."

So, even though I play a character who doesn't exactly embrace George Mueller and his new ideas (I am an aristocratic woman in his church), I still have enjoyed learning about him.  :)

-Today is 'Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day.' It's a day where people can support Chick-Fil-A for speaking out against homosexuality by giving them lots of business, and we are going to eat there this afternoon before my play practice. Let me just say here that I very much applaud Chick-Fil-A for standing up for what is right. I know that they have been persecuted by people who don't think that the sin of homosexuality is really a sin and are speaking out against this great restaurant.

Sometimes I am just so saddened by how sinful we all are...too blind to see what is clearly right in front of our faces.

-And lastly, I ask you, readers, to pray for me. Please pray that I will will continue to draw closer to the Lord, and that I would do everything I do, whether it's acting on a stage or folding laundry, for His glory.
I appreciate your prayers! :)

Have a blessed week!

A Miscellany Post

-On Monday we celebrated my dad's birthday. Happy Birthday, Daddy! I love you.

-I am becoming really excited for my Greenleaf show! It's coming up in just about three weeks, and rehearsals start in ten days! It's hard to believe it's already time for the show. Lots of hard work has gone into The Kids of Bristol Town, and I am so looking forward to performing it!

-Last Friday, we had a fun time participating in Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-a with some friends. Sadly, I have no good pictures of us cows, but trust me, we were cute! :)

-I was babysitting a few kids (10 kids, actually!) last night, and one the kids, a six-year-old little girl, came over to me. She was holding a pink Bible that looked very worn, as if it had been read often. The little girl asked me if I would read her a story from the Bible. The rest of the kids were playing on the swings and the slides and were being good at the moment, so I asked her which story she would like read to her. "Any story" she said, so I opened up to Genesis and read about Creation. The whole time I was reading she sat there, listening to every word.
This little girl was one of the sweetest and quietest of the kids. It was cool to see a six-year-old little girl wanting to be read to from the Bible instead of playing. It made me think about how I should be more like that: wanting to read God's Word and take it in, really take in. It was kind of convicting.

-And speaking of the Bible, a friend shared this verse with me because we had been talking about encouragement. I think it's a good verse to remember.

"Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear." ~Ephesians 4:29

Well, that's about it, I guess. Have a great rest of the week, enjoy Summer and stay cool! :)

Guest Post

I just had the opportunity to write a guest post for Aidyl Ewoh . Check it out! :)

5.25.2012

I'm back....I hope!

I have been busy these past several days, and so have not gotten the chance to really sit down and blog in a while.

And well, I don't have that much to say right now that would be of any interest to anybody. The only things I have been doing lately are:

  • entertaining my adorable little cousins (they went home on Monday. :( )
  •  reading over and getting familiar with the script for the Kids of Bristol show I am going to be in this summer.  (I actually went to my first costume fitting on Wednesday, which made me so excited for the show! Hurry up, August...)
  •  playing outside
  • taking pictures (of course!)
  • a little schoolwork
  • drinking iced tea
  • playing with my blog's design a little
  • baking
  • reading
  • sleeping in (yay!)

So, I am just enjoying these lazy almost-Summer days, when not much is going on, because next month will be a little more hectic for us, as will July and August.

I just wanted to pop on here and update briefly on all that I've been doing lately. I hope to be back soon, once I have more things to blog about.

Have a lovely weekend! :)

This and That

photos taken from Pinterest
I can't promise that this post will be too interesting, but I thought I'd better write about something so that my  little blog would not feel neglected. :)

-On Friday, we got to spend some time with friends, and it was so much fun! I am very thankful for good friends!

-On Saturday, I auditioned for Greenleaf Music & Arts studio. Normally you have to take some sort of class to be able to audition, but this show, Kids of Bristol (which is the story of George Mueller), is Greenleaf's family show, so anyone can audition.
I was a little nervous about it, but I think I did well and walked away feeling pretty confident.

-And then yesterday, I found out who I will portraying in the show...drum roll, please...
Mrs. Clayborn!

I will have to wait until I get the script to see how big of a role Mrs. Clayborn is, but I am thankful that I at least got a part in the show!

-Thursday night is the awards ceremony for our CC group. All of the kids who worked hard and achieved the different levels of memorization will receive medals and then there will be a little reception type thing afterwards. I am a little sad because once the awards ceremony comes to an end, CC will officially be over. :(

It's definitely been a fun year for I think everyone involved and I will miss it. *sniff, sniff*

tea...ahh

This is exactly how I feel!

-My sweet cousin, Grant turns 7 today! How is that even possible?! I mean, really?

Happy Birthday, buddy! I love you SO much!

Well, I better get off now and (reluctantly) return to my schoolwork...

Have a lovely day! :)

Hello There. :)

Hi!
-Because I don't have anything of much importance to talk about, I'm going to share a few photos I've found on
Pinterest, the awesome online world that can literally suck you into it for hours at a time. :D

When I saw this, it struck me as really funny, and I couldn't stop laughing!

Keely, when I saw this, I thought of you!

I better stop now, or I'll go crazy! Can you tell that I love Pinterest? ;)

-These are videos of Megan when she was about a year  old that I found a few weeks ago...oh, where did the time go?  (please, please ignore my very high pitched voice...I was ten, okay?!)

-And here are a few pictures for your viewing pleasure. :)

Megan is such a good mommy
"Liam, DON'T get water on the camera, or you're going to regret it!"
sweet girl

Have a...umm...marvelous Monday! (I was trying to go with the whole start-with-the-same-letter-as-the-day-of-the-week-thing) :)
